        The Serpent’s Great Lie Continues

An aspect of the serpent in the minds of men is Satan and the scripture says that he speaks a lie out of his own mind because he is a liar and the father of all liars and there is no truth in him and that it has been that way from the beginning of this fallen creation. You’ll find that scripture verse in John 8:44. What do you suppose all that means? Let’s see what the Lord will bring to our understanding.

I had the occasion to watch an Ophrah Winfrey Show tonight and the guest speaker was Gary Zukav. He has just written another New Age book called Soul Stories. In their conversation it was easy to pick up the very same line that the serpent used on Adam at the very beginning of the visible, but spiritual creation of our Heavenly Father, Jehovah. The serpent’s great lie was that Adam could become spiritually mature and fulfilled through experiences that he would go through. But Jehovah had told Adam that only through union with Him could he be matured and perfected. Jesus came into the world as the image of the invisible God manifesting overcoming power within His flesh body and over this physical world, thereby connecting us back to our Heavenly Father. That’s why He could say that He was the only truth and that life was in Him only and that His way was the only way or path. But Satan, the great liar and deceiver says otherwise. The men who hear his voice rather than the Living God agree with him.

This writer came across as a very likeable compassionate man. He went on to say that there is no “one path” to spiritual maturity and that there are many paths to finding it. The theme was that the experiences of life and the way that you are treated will always work out for your benefit. They may be good or bad experiences, but they would teach you valuable lessons about yourself and life in general. There’s that very same lie that the master of deception told at the very beginning of creation, that we would be perfected by experiences instead of by union with Jehovah. The scriptures warn us continually that we shouldn’t experience sin because it is spiritual death to us and that we and our offspring would have to pay the consequences of our actions as the sins of the fathers are passed on to the following generations. We’re not only responsible for ourselves.

He went on to say that we are all miracles and that all humanity is one and each a friend and that the “soul is real.” There was no mention of God and the emphasis was on the soul. The scriptures say that we are spirit and have a soul and that we are expected to return to our Heavenly Father and become one with Him in the Spirit of God. That’s the true reality of unity, friendship or communion and the only true lasting miracle that’s based on truth and not on lies. This world and humanity is incapable of hearing, seeing or believing the truth in its present “soul only perception” condition. The conversation went on to say that the personality will die, but the soul will continue to stay here and live as an energy force. That’s a half truth. Yes, the personality will die, but so will the soul. Soul ties are only in the physical realm between members of humanity. Some are Godly and others are not. Spirit ties are between the Living God and the human spirit in men. Only our spirit will return to our Heavenly Father. The god of this world, Satan, has always twisted scriptural truth to deceive the masses. Gary Zukov spoke about being connected via the same wave lengths. That is a truth about this physical world, but definitely not a truth in the spiritual realm of God. All humanity has no problem hearing from the god of this world, but that very same god has our “spiritual ears” closed and our “spiritual eyes” blinded to any “pure truth.”

Another theme was that you can create the intimacy you are looking for by finding your special soul mate, your “beloved.” He went on to say that there is pure power in these physical experiences and that real power lies in authentic sharing and philosophy. Create your own destiny was another theme. Something was said about becoming an “elegant spirit” and surrendering yourself to the “universe” so that one can become positive and not negative as part of their purpose for being here. They talked of the power of the “universe” and “universal consciousness” and their mother ship. They’re talking about Satan, the counterfeit god, an aspect of the primordial serpent, the creator of this fallen physical creation. The conversation was that the spirit continues when it passes over to the other side and is able to have some soulish contact with those they left behind. The scriptural meaning of passing over to the other side or “Passover” is having the carnal mind we were born with, completely covered over, with the mind of Christ in full authority and control. That’s the true spiritual journey back to the true Creator.

Some in the audience were obviously moved to tears and experienced an emotional soulish response when parents spoke of losing their young daughter to brain cancer. The father spoke of her death as liberating because he felt an electrical discharge when she died. Satan always works up the physical and emotional realms, while the Living God draws us up in the mental plane. The mother of the child repeated the conversation she had with her daughter during a car trip to have chemotherapy. It was raining and her daughter was joyful and said, isn’t God wonderful to give us all this rain so that we could have water for all the animals and the trees. The emotional tugging doesn’t take away from the fact that Satan, the god of this world, was unknowingly being addressed along with his creation. This creation could never have come about if he had not stolen the substance of the original spiritual creation and reformed it into this physical world. Let’s get realistic for a moment. The Living God certainly would have done a far better job with this world than what we’re familiar with. It must be the Lord’s sense of humor, but He just pointed out to me that the word familiar ends in the word liar. The word makes me think of family lies or secrets. Jehovah would have succeeded in forming a creation without all the hostile forces that are constantly against us like disease, earthquakes, floods and most of all, other men.

It was stated that you are worthy because you are born. Worthy of what? My bible tells me that I have to be “born again” because this physical birth is not of God. Neither is this physical creation the work of our Heavenly Father. Why do you think Jesus went through all that trouble to get us out of here if all we have to do is physically die to get out of here? We’re trapped here by the god of this world who stole the substance of the beginning creation and caused our fall when Adam agreed with the serpent’s witchcraft lie that he could be spiritually matured by having experiences. We know by “our experience” that history only repeats itself and the evil that men do only continues to go from bad to worse. Men are acting more like wild beasts than civilized men everyday. It’s pretty obvious that experiences aren’t bringing about the desired results of spiritual maturity. Even maturing in the goodness of this world keeps us in spiritual death because we’re separated from the only One who has life to impart. The god of this world can only impart death, sorrow and destruction. That’s the nature of the beast.

Oprah spoke about “remembering your spirit.” I don’t know whether or not she was referring to a spirit guide when she told the following story. She made a decision during a private plane trip to return to her vacationing place. Upon arriving there, she found that the apartment was flooding because some water was left running. If she had not returned at that precise time the ceiling would have collapsed and ruined the seven or eight apartments below. There is no doubt in my mind that Satan can provide help, direction and give words of knowledge. He counterfeits all the blessings of the one true God, although it is often in a very imperfect manner for all the wrong reasons and ultimately benefits him. He comes to kill and destroy any true spiritual growth in anybody who seeks the pure truth. I use the word, he, but Satan is really a she who masquerades as a male spirit. By scriptural definition, the term male speaks of authority and the term female speaks of submission to that authority. Of course, Satan’s very nature is in rebellion toward God continuously. Is it any wonder that children are born rebellious by nature and have to be trained up in the ways of the Lord considering their origin?

People in the New Age movement are smooth and gentle talking, very typical of the serpent in the ungodly spiritual journey. He comes as an angel of light. But Jesus said, watch that your light isn’t gross darkness, which is to say, be careful of the “big lie” that “the liar” is trying to make you fall for. You say it can’t happen to you? It happened to Adam and he had a lot more going for him than we do. That’s why the original fall was so great. But guess what? We’re still falling. Can humanity get much lower? They’re sure trying. Jesus is calling us in that still quiet voice “Come up higher” and “Come out of her my people.” That means to “come out from under” the lies of the god of this world which is in our fallen carnal mind that we are born with and “enter into the mind of Christ.” The carnal mind created by the serpent keeps us in the realm of the dead and the mind of Christ leads us into unending spiritual life. The scripture tells us in Isaiah to come and reason with the Lord by asking for His truth. Most can’t bear the truth.

1 Peter verse 22 says that you purify your soul by obeying the truth and then you will have true love for men which is pure love when it’s motivated by the Spirit of the Living God dwelling in you. I’ll close with Philippians 4:8 which says whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; “think on these things.” I’ve given you a good report. Let God be true and every man a liar. The carnal mind in man is a liar like its creator.

Harmony and reconciliation with men can only come about through our spiritual ascension in Christ. Any other way of ascension is a lie from Satan and can only lead to further torment and destruction. If you want true spiritual ascension, you must humble yourself and seek after the One who is Truth. He will lead you up out of this pit called hell that’s within and without us. Sin will be revealed in us when “The Light” searches us out in the darkness of our minds. Then we must confess those sins and repent of them, which is another way of saying exchange our carnal minds for the mind of Christ. Are you on the broad paths of spiritual destruction or are you on the straight and narrow path, that few are on, that leads to life and right back to Jehovah, our Heavenly Father? Call upon Jesus Christ.
