Hi Pastor Vitale, 

Welcome home--we miss you already too.

I have a question when you get a chance...

We talked about Satan feeding off of our pain...I was wondering what your thoughts were on spanking kids as a form of training/discipline, since that is inflicting pain.

[My Response:] I believe in spanking. Spanking inflicts pain on Satan, the source of misbehavior in our children. Her power over them must be broken. The pain of spanking, when ministered with the motive of loving our children unto correction, defeats Satan, but if it is ministered in anger strengthens her. Obviously, this is a “no no.”

Also, I think we were a little side-tracked with my question about taking a pill to rid a head-ache or other pain...could we really be using a man-made chemical to deter the enemy from gaining from our pain? Any thoughts?

[My Response:] yes. If, unfortunately, we are not powerful enough yet to pray the headache away, we can use man-made chemicals, in the same way that if we are sick and prayer has not healed us, we should go to the doctor, rather than die. The two issues are the same and their root.
